It's Time To Shift & Save

The Shift & Save® Peak Load Reduction programs are not taking any new customers projects effective 12/31/2011. If you have a storage project that could be available in 2012 or 2013 please call our customer service center at 1-877-811-8700 or send us your info at support@cyp-res.com and we can discuss your project. A new set of thermal energy storage and other storage programs will be introduced at some point in 2012 so please stay in touch with us. All prior program incentive applications and payments are subscribed and closed effective 12/31/2011.

Cypress, Ltd. and providers of Thermal Energy Storage technology have teamed up to help Southern California Edison (SCE) customers reduce peak demand for power and save money on air conditioning costs. The Shift & Save program uses advanced thermal energy storage technologies to improve reliability, affordability, and deliver a permanent shift in electrical peak load to off-peak times.

Thermal Energy Storage

Thermal Energy Storage (TES) refers to technologies that store energy in a thermal reservoir for later use. Balancing energy demands between daytime and nighttime, TES systems use ice or chilled water from stored thermal energy to reduce peak air conditioning loads.

Shift & Save pays incentives of $250/kW to permanently shift on-peak usage to off-peak times in the SCE service territory using TES technology. Additionally, Shift & Save helps protect against shortages during heat waves and reduces reliance on construction of new generation plants.

Market Qualifications

All SCE customers are eligible for the Shift & Save program. Customers currently on a Time-of-Use Rate will benefit even more through reduced costs for on-peak usage. The Shift & Save program will run from 2008 through 2011 and will enhance power grid reliability while giving SCE customers a seat at the environmental table.

  • Commercial, institutional, industrial, medical, retail & military applications
  • City & county governments
  • Colleges & K-12 school districts with summer schedules
  • Retrofit, new construction, remodel or gut/rehab & tenant finish applications

There is a limited budget for incentives to reduce peak energy and customer reaction has been very positive. We encourage you to contact Cypress, Ltd. soon. The incentives are:

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Your participation in Shift & Save can lower a building's carbon footprint from between 10 and 20%.

The Shift & Save Program is funded by California utility customers and is administered by PG&E under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission though a contract that will be awarded to Cypress, Ltd. California customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase any additional services offered by contractors.
