The Shift & Save® Peak Load Reduction programs are not taking any new customers projects effective 12/31/2011. If you have a storage project that could be available in 2012 or 2013 please call our customer service center at 1-877-811-8700 or send us your info at support@cyp-res.com and we can discuss your project. A new set of thermal energy storage and other storage programs will be introduced at some point in 2012 so please stay in touch with us. All prior program incentive applications and payments are subscribed and closed effective 12/31/2011.

Since 2007, Cypress, Ltd. has teamed up with PG&E to help customers reduce peak demands for power and save money through the Shift & Save® program. Expanding upon its success, additional and proven technologies are now eligible for incentives effective 6/1/2010. Designed to pay incentives based on peak loads permanently shifted (kW) to non-peak times, the total potential payments are as follows:

Shift & Save® will run through 2011 and will enhance power grid reliability while giving PG&E customers - and California - environmental benefits. Unlike Demand Response, which reduces the peak load on specific days when the power grid is at risk of overload, Shift & Save® using PLS technologies permanently removes daily AC peak loads over the entire peak season. A strategic part of PG&E's green energy focus, Shift & Save® helps protect California against rolling blackouts and reduces the need for construction of new generation plants.
Market Qualifications
Using PLS technologies, Shift & Save® allows qualified PG&E customers to install equipment that uses less expensive, less polluting nighttime power to create and store cooling for use the next day. Administered by Cypress, Ltd., the Shift & Save® market qualifications include:
- All bundled PG&E customers with service sizes typically suitable for A6, A10 TOU, E19 or E20 rates
- Community college districts, cities and counties
- Commercial, institutional, retail and military applications
- Retrofit, new construction, remodel or gut/rehab and tenant finish applications

- Low temperature glycol1 circulates through the coils
- Unlike direct contact, the water and ice melt do not circulate through the chilled water-cooling loop but rather remain in the container
